Candy Sweeter; Liquor Quicker

Candy or alcohol or both? The people have a taste for high end carbohydrates either straight up or in alcoholic emulsification. In that they are no different from people everywhere.

I love this statement from the entry entitled “Sugar” in Wikipedia:

In modern times it has been questioned whether a diet high in sugars, especially refined sugars, is bad for health. Sugar has been linked to obesity and suspected of being implicated in diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dementia, macular degeneration and tooth decay. Numerous studies have been undertaken to try to clarify the position but the results remain largely unclear, mainly because of the difficulty of finding populations for use as controls that do not consume sugars.

Can we not find a control group anywhere?

The signage for the candy store is impeccable but temporary. The signage for the liquor store is thrown together but more permanent.

Really though, Michel, what takes the cake here in my estimation is the name of the liquor store, La Cava del Rey. The Cellar of the King. Whoever thought up that name either has a delightful sense of humor or grand pretentions with a loose grip on reality at best.
