Enough architectural photography for now. This is a sweet looking, somewhat demented, poverty-stricken little old lady who took up her station on my street for a time in June. The other lady with her back to the camera is digging around for some change.
I employ a system for dealing with this situation. I have “adopted” two particular little old ladies who sit on the sidewalk between here and uptown as well as a disabled teenage girl who works the main plaza. Whenever I encounter any of those three, I give them something relatively substantial. Then I step over the rest as if they did not exist, as does nearly everyone else. Occasionally, but not often, there is some slippage in this system, but it is this system that allows me to avoid thinking about it all anymore.
