Santa Rosa

The northern route from Dolores Hidalgo to Guanajuato, the capitol city of the state of Guanajuato, traverses the Sierra de Guanajuato. This manner of naming the state, the capitol city, and the mountain range makes it easy to remember those names.

Strung along a saddle between two of those mountains is the little town of Santa Rosa, which I mentioned in my last post.

To be completely forthright, I stopped in Santa Rosa yesterday to shop for pottery with a friend, not something that conforms to the kind of image that I like to project.

This is a big election year in Mexico, and all politics are local here.

This little town is an old one and features many interesting buildings, some of them abandoned.

I think that we shall just use the other door for the time being.

Thank you for forgiving my posting this link in a comment on your blog entry Stephen. I just felt that the parallel door photos from widely different places in the world justified it. And thanks for visiting.
